Designer Bags Are Easy To Come By If One Knows Where To Look

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

When we see the stars walking down the red carpet at some big event or other, most of us imagine that they are super rich and that they have bought everything they are wearing. On the contrary, when they become stars, fashion houses fall over themselves to give out free gifts of clothing, jewelry and accessories so that they get some free advertising quite cheaply. On the other hand, those with no pulling power, so to speak, will often use things like Christian Dior replica handbags, Juicy Couture replica handbags or Hermes replica handbags, to give the impression that they are on the cutting edge of fashion without really having to spend so much money.

Since these are commonly found on the internet, in great stores which sometimes have licenses from the designers themselves, the cost is probably well within reach of the normal person who also wants to look great too. Indeed, anyone would be hard pressed to know the difference between the real thing and this faux variety since they are so well made.

The easiest way to find a good supplier is to ask others who are well-dressed and very knowledgeable about fashion. Chances are, they have already found a great online store and will not be shy in boasting about the goods that they got from there. In fact, this is probably one of the best ways to find any good store online since they will already have tried and tested the store well before any goods are bought.

Those who really must get their hands on one of these delightful purses should steer well clear of street vendors. Although the purses may look good while the hustle and bustle is going on, once the goods are at home and the buyer has a chance to take a good look at the piece, flaws and faults will be only too obvious.

These badly made purses are extremely easy to spot by those who know what they are looking for. Uneven stitching or zips which do not close properly should be the first indicator that something is wrong. On closer inspection, linings and finishes will generally be poor quality with patterns being off-center too. Whatever can go wrong with one of these copies, it usually does since all the traders are looking for is a quick buck for sure.

Once a great online store is found, these wonderful purses make cool gifts for the fashion conscious. Indeed, there is only one thing better than a perfectly made purse which looks like a designer piece and that is two purses which look like designer pieces. Women love to have several purses from outstanding design houses and this helps to ring the changes when they are putting on a new look.

Whichever designer is the favored one, women will go all out to own something by them and they will take great pleasure in being admired for how they look regularly. This is certainly what keeps people striving to be at the forefront of fashion even on a limited budget.

Have you ever looked at the fantastic accessories that are around today but thought no they are not for me. Think again. There is no limit to how many outfits can be enhanced with a simple scarf, pashmina, a brooch, bracelets and necklaces.

Thank goodness for costume jewellery, it can make a plain outfit into a stunning one in a few seconds and very often, the pieces are so cleverly made that they look like the real thing.

There are so many beautiful items on offer but it is wise to choose carefully. In order to achieve stylish dressing, the rule is ‘Less is more’.

Take for instance the little black dress, on it’s own it is but very plain and possibly even draining to your complexion next to the bare skin, but embellished with a scarf in a colour that suits you, it can transform the whole outfit to something special.

However, caution, never overdress and hang yourself full of virtually the whole shop. That would be counterproductive to great appearance.

Fashion for the Mature Woman offers dozens of ideas on how to enhance and personalise outfits.

Look at the simple ways in which a scarf can be folded and adapted which can add an even more personal touch. If you want to follow the women who have style, study their dress sense.

Look for instance at a simple little Chanel suit. It can be black or cream, but the fact that the edges of the Jacket are in a contrasting colour makes it classy. Teamed up with a blouse to match the colour of the edging and you have the perfect elegant outfit. Good material does make a difference so when choosing clothes, it is best to pay a little more for good quality, it will definitely be worth it.

When wearing Coats and Jackets, it is a good idea to attach a funky brooch on the collar or put a silk kerchief through the button hole and this simple trick will make a plain garment stand out.

Little tricks like this make all the difference and set you apart from the crowd. A pair of nice earrings also always convey a certain style. Nothing too grand and flashy of course, it also shows that you are making an effort with your appearance which if you want to achieve style, goes a long way towards that and you will gain respect.

Style and Fashion are part of a creative field which offers unlimited possibilities with just a little practice and flair which can easily be developed by paying close attention to what suits you, choose carefully with colours, dress styles to suit your shape and the right accessories and you will soon become very confident about your own unique dress code.

Bead Ideas For Bridesmaids

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

What can make a bridesmaid’s dress stand out in a crowd so that the wedding guests whisper to one another, “Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?”

Why, the texture of that gown, of course with its artful draping and twists, particularly if those tucks are accented with beads.

Beads On Bridesmaids’ Dresses

Personalizing a bridesmaid’s gown with beads is a perfect way to customize an off the rack dress. Almost all types of beads look great on bridesmaids’ dresses from spotlight sequins to faux freshwater pearls, from metallicized barrel beads from India to the flash and fire of Swarovski crystals. Here are a few tips for embellishing the bride’s chosen handmaidens with a little bit of extra sparkle:

• Don’t overdo the beads! This is a wedding, not a chorus line at the Las Vegas branch of the Copacabana. Less is always more. • Knot each bead into place before you begin to sew, typing on to the back of the fabric. (That way if the thread breaks, you’ll only lose that one bead.). With heavier beads, consider using a small amount of fabric glue. • Pair lightweight beads with lighter, gauzier fabrics and heavy beads with heavier materials. Lighter beads are easier to work with on dresses and last longer. • If you want your beaded seams to last the length of the entire wedding and a couple of hours into the reception, make sure to double stitch them into place.

Beads and Bobby Pins

Beads can also make beautiful ornaments for the bridesmaids’ coiffures. Even a humble bobby pin can become a work of art when embellished with a cluster of lustrous faux freshwater pearls.

The basic bead unit is an approximately six inch length of 28 gauge wire, one fake pearls and two small crystals that will act as spacers.

Bend the wire in half, and slide one of the small crystals followed by a pearl to that first wire bend. Now twist the wire to the side of the crystal and loop it a second time through the pearl. Twist the remaining wire together so that you have a single strong wire strand and wrap this tightly and securely around the bobby pin. Cut off the excess wire. Repeat using the same bobby pin until the bobby pin is completely covered in beads. You can vary the lengths of wire and the types of beads you use for contrast if you like. You can use a similar technique to embellish combs, hair vines and other types of hairpins.

Beaded Jewelry

The most traditional way of incorporating beads into the bridesmaids’ outfits of course is through necklaces, bracelets, earrings, ankle bracelets and other forms of jewelry. Beaded fashion jewelry works just as well as something Tiffany’s finest lapis lazuli here – perhaps even better, because if the clasp breaks on a piece of costume jewelry, no one will feel compelled to spend the next 10 minutes herding up the errant beads. This piece of beaded jewelry will also make a perfect bridesmaid’s gift.

How To Enhance Your Look With Wardrobe Accessories

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Even those who have a great collection of clothing and who always look their best may sometimes find themselves bored with their wardrobes. Wearing the same thing day in and day out can get boring, so you might need to change things occasionally to feel confident. Sometimes it only takes one or two small pieces to change an entire look. If your wardrobe needs a boost, but you do not want to invest in all new clothes, consider shopping for a few new accessories. These items can add a lot of spice to your look and keep you feeling modern and stylish. Great replica handbags are the perfect way to organize your daily life while also improving your look. Best of all, replica purses save you money while still looking like high style items.

Another way to liven up a dull look is with a new belt. You can turn an average pair of pants or jeans into something special by changing the look of the belt. Belting a dress is also a great way to create a completely new outfit. A sheath dress will look totally different if it is cinched at the waste. You can use regular belts or try belting an outfit with a scarf or shawl. Adding a belt is also a great way to add color or pattern to an outfit.

If you want to use a scarf in a more traditional manner, you have a lot of options. Wrapping a scarf around your neck is an excellent way to add a punch to a regular t-shirt or button down shirt. It can take a casual look and dress it up, especially if you choose a scarf with beading or sparkle on it. During the cold weather months, the scarf can also keep you feeling warm and cozy, even when you are indoors and not wearing a jacket or coat.

Footwear is one of the most important accessories in a person’s closet. Shoes can change the look of an entire outfit. When shopping for shoes, combine comfort and style for a great look. Some people think that comfortable shoes cannot look good and others believe that the best looking shoes have to hurt your feet. Neither assumption is true. There are plenty of cute shoes available that feel great on your feet and allow you to walk and move around all day without foot pain.

Finally, remember to add jewelry to complete your look. Jewelry pieces should complement your body type, your overall look and any other accessories you are wearing. Do not go overboard with jewelry if you are already wearing other accessories like scarves or belts. Smaller people should use more petite jewelry and those who are larger will look great in large, bold pieces. Wearing jewelry is about understanding scale and you do not want to lose your body in the piece or the piece on your body. Jewelry is also a great way to add color or punch to a boring look. Professional outfits will look less dull if you add a great pop of jewelry color.

Classic vs. Cool Fashion and Accessories

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Please don’t allow the title of this article fool you- classic fashion can most certainly be cool, and cool fashion can be so cool that it becomes classic. But when choosing certain items, namely accessories, we tend to go for those that are either classic- Hermes ties, silver cufflinks, black leather bags- or cool- rusty Santa Fe rings, cloth Mexican print bags, or bright coloured scarves.

A benefit of cool is that few people will have it. This is especially true if you bought the item on the beach or in a one-of-a-kind shop. While a benefit of classic is that it will always be in style. Moreover, people tend to spend more money on classic items, and therefore they tend to last longer.

Here’s a short list of classic and cool items every man and woman should own.

1. Classic for him: A navy blue sports jacket. Navy is a very handsome and sophisticated colour. It goes with everything and is almost always in season (although better suited for colder weather). The beauty of a navy sports jacket is its versatility. It can be paired with blue jeans, black jeans, khakis, corduroys, or even suit trousers.

Classic for her: The little black dress. Every woman needs a little black dress in her closet. It is the go-to outfit for a job interview, a Christmas party, or a nice dinner and night out with friends. LBD’s can be sexy or professional, owning one of each is therefore ideal.

2. Cool for him: colourful high tops. The options of cool mens kicks are endless. From purple and green, to graffiti Converse, there is no limit to how cool a guys feet can look. Fun sneakers are a great way to splash out and let the world know that you’re bold and not afraid to look street.

Cool for her: An original cloth bag from somewhere like Bali or Mexico is the perfect accessory for a boho, summer look. These tend to be inexpensive accessories that will have all your friends ooing and aaing and wishing they had one for themselves.

3. Classic for him: Silver cufflinks. There are few more versatile accessories for men than a nice pair of silver cufflinks. For a more personal gift, try engraving them with the recipients initials. Silver cufflinks are great with suits at work or a dress shirt and jeans on a Sunday afternoon.

Classic for her: A big black leather bag. Every woman needs a big bag to lug all of her things around in. If you’re going to go big, you need to go black, and should really go leather as well.

4. Cool for him: beads. A lot of men don’t like to wear jewellery, let alone hippy jewellery. But nice, small wooden beads worn around the neck can be very cool. And they even look good when paired with other types of chains.

Cool for her: A Fedora hat. Fedora hats are in style one minute and out the next, it’s too hard to keep up. Why they ever go out is beyond me. They are very cool and ideal with a pair jeans and a tshit, or a summer maxi dress.

For the best wardbrobe and outfits it’s a good idea to mix classic with cool items always.
